Immune System
The vast majority of illnesses & diseases result from a poorly functioning immune system. Signs of a weak immune system include, but are not limited to the following:
§ Frequent colds & flus
§ Ear infections
§ Allergies & asthma
§ Skin conditions including eczema & psoriasis
§ Digestive issues including constipation, diarrhea, gassiness, etc…
§ Behavioural issues including hyperactivity and delayed development
Therefore, building a healthy immune system right from the beginning is critical for supporting optimal wellness and preventing disease both short term and long term. Unfortunately, many of our routine practices in North America are focused on suppressing the immune system instead of supporting and educating it. The Wylde Natural Health Team is dedicated to promoting optimal immune function in every child through individualized treatment plans that may include dietary, nutritional and lifestyle recommendations and gentle herbal medicines.
Vaccination Support
The choice of whether or not to vaccinate, when to vaccinate and how to vaccinate is entirely each family’s choice. We are committed to providing as much education as possible about the risks, benefits and relevance of the vaccinations for each child so parents may make an informed decision. Although we treat families in our practice who choose not to vaccinate, we do not offer alternative vaccination schedules as they have not been proven to be effective. Our role is to educate parents and provide supportive treatment for the child’s immune system before and after vaccinations to optimize the benefits and minimize the side effects (e.g. pain, fevers, etc…).
Treatments to support the immune system typically include nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and gentle “in home” therapies (e.g. baths, rubs, etc…). If the child is breastfeeding, we also recommend nutrition and herbal medicine to help support the mother’s immune system.
ave you heard of CRMO in children and how can natural therapy be of help. Scared mom. Nancy
Hi Nancy,
I have heard of CRMO but have not ever treated this condition. This however doesn’t mean that we can’t help. CRMO is an auto-inflammatory condition so we would assess your child for any imbalances and nutrient deficiencies, treat with supportive treatments (supportive to conventional medicines) such a very healthy diet, free of inflammatory foods, in addition to considering the right probiotics, omega-3s, vitamin D and immune modulating herbs/nutrients.
I hope that helps! Eileen Park, ND is accepting new patients right now.
