Eileen Park, IBCLC and Tanya Wylde, ND are both trained in lactation support and encourage all mom’s to breast feed and all dad’s to support their wives to breast feed. The American Academy of Pediatrics writes “Given the documented short- and long-term medical and neurodevelopmental advantages of breastfeeding, infant nutrition should be considered a public health issue and not only a lifestyle choice”. We understand that breast feeding isn’t always easy and this is why we, as naturopathic doctors and primary care health providers, spent the time to get additional training and experience to help all of our patients (new mom’s and dad’s) learn to breast feed. The American Academy of Pediatrics reaffirms its recommendation of exclusive breastfeeding for about 6 months, followed by continued breastfeeding as complementary foods are introduced, with continuation of breastfeeding for 1 year or longer as mutually desired by mother and infant. We are here to support you when you need our help. The Wylde Natural Health Team is offering a free weekly Breastfeeding Drop-In to support the community of women struggling to breast-feed or simply wanting to learn to breast feed. This will be hosted by Eileen Park, MSc, IBCLC, ND. We also offer individual lactation consults in office, in home or in hospital that can be billed under “naturopathic medicine” on your health insurance plans. Please see our fee guide for details on costs.
